The Boulevard SL maintains a comfortable temperature in spaces up to 417 square feet, thanks to its state-of-the-art ventless design and 14,000 BTUs for natural gas and 12,000 BTUs for liquid propane. A 10,000 BTU version is approved for use in bedrooms (where permitted by law), allowing you to create the ultimate cozy retreat. The Empire Boulevard SL Ventless Gas Fireplace comes with an electronic intermittent pilot ignition system, an On/Off wall switch, and a battery back-up you can use in the event of a power outage. Or, instead of an On/Off switch, you can use a wall thermostat, remote control thermostat, or programmable remote control. The electronic intermittent pilot ignition system contains a cutting-edge pilot system for safety that automatically shuts off the gas supply if the flame goes out, as well as an Oxygen Depletion Sensor (ODS) that continuously monitors the CO2 levels in the room. If the oxygen supply drops below a certain level, the ODS will turn off the fireplace. The Boulevard SL is designed to fit into a stud-framed wall, and the valve and control module are hidden below the burner. Gas can be routed below, through the side, or out the back of the fireplace through openings in the casing. Three installation options, recessed, semi recessed, and surface-mount, allow you the freedom to choose the optimal placement for your space and desired style. Recessed Installation: Since it has just a 5.5-inch depth, the Boulevard SL can be fully placed in a 2 x 6 stud-framed wall. To achieve a stunning, clean-faced design, you can use tile or stone up to the rectangular opening. The optional trim kit completes the opening by concealing the tile or stone borders and adjusts in depth from 1/2 to 1”. Installing the provided non-combustible material above and to the sides of the fireplace, as well as tile or stone up to the fireplace opening, is required for recessed installations. Partially Recessed Installation: The Boulevard SL can be partially recessed and finished with one of two fronts in a 2 x 4 stud-framed wall. Installing the provided non-combustible material above the fireplace and a Mitered Decorative Front is required for partially recessed installations. Surface-Mount Installation: Hang the Boulevard SL like a framed picture on any wall, including brick, stone, or standard drywall, and complete with a decorative front. The Mitered Decorative Front and Fireplace Wrap are required for Surface-Mount installation. Available in a 30" width with a Standard Factory finish.
